RAFBF, Princess Marina House, Seaside Apartments, Rustington

We provided Quantity Surveying Services and worked with Cheesmur Building Contractors.

The project included the alteration of the existing structure and refurbishment of the building to two holiday apartments for the RAFBF.

Weston Lane Medical Centre, Southampton

A new three storey Primary Health Care Centre in Woolston, Southampton.

Of particular interest is that the building was designed and constructed to retain and preserve a mauture London Plane tree and it's root pattern which are the subject of a TPO.

The 1730 m2 building is a steel frame on piled foundations with a mixture of cladding materials.

Steyning Health Care Centre

A new three storey Medical Centre on a restricted site in the village of Steyning, West Sussex.

The project comprised the demolition of a former surgery and the construction of a new 2,230 sm2 building utilising a steel frame with precast concrete intermediate floors. The external walls are of facing brick and faced plinth blocks, coupled with flint feature panels and vertical tile hanging.

The interior is fitted out to accommodate Pharmacy, G.P. Consulting and Therapy rooms along with minor treatment and supporting nursing facilities. The upper floors have space for use by the Horsham and Chanctonbury Primary Care Trust.

The services internally are covered by a management system which allows maximum efficiency and economy for the building users and a system of comfort cooling is incorporated in key areas.

Pulborough Medical Centre

Built on a former contaminated industrial site this Design & Build Primary Care Centre is a three storey building of 2004 m2 over three floors.

The construction is an insitu concrete frame on piled foundations. Brick clad with a feature stone portico entrance.

The facility was designed for mixed primary care use. The ground floor containing the pharmacy and consulting rooms for visiting therapists. GP consultant rooms are situated on the first floor and the West Sussex PCT and Mary House Trust occupy the second floor.

Logistical problems during construction included:-

  • Railway line immediately adjacent the site, thus limiting crane movements.
  • Shared access with several others off the busy A29.
  • Several adjacent developments underway concurrently with a new Tesco store sharing access with the site.
