Pulborough Medical Centre
QS for Principle Contractor
Built on a former contaminated industrial site this Design & Build Primary Care Centre is a three storey building of 2004 m2 over three floors.
The construction is an insitu concrete frame on piled foundations. Brick clad with a feature stone portico entrance.
The facility was designed for mixed primary care use. The ground floor containing the pharmacy and consulting rooms for visiting therapists. GP consultant rooms are situated on the first floor and the West Sussex PCT and Mary House Trust occupy the second floor.
Logistical problems during construction included:-
- Railway line immediately adjacent the site, thus limiting crane movements.
- Shared access with several others off the busy A29.
- Several adjacent developments underway concurrently with a new Tesco store sharing access with the site.
